Assessment & Standards

New Dimensions follows a multifaceted approach to documenting student success. Students are expected to accept responsibility for their learning and are guided by teachers who inspire them to be their very best.  A portfolio is kept during the year made up of student work samples, tests, and projects.

Students follow the North Carolina testing requirements, which include but are not limited to 4th grade writing tests and End of Grade Tests (EOGs) for grades 3-6.

Once near the beginning of the year, and again near year’s end, New Dimensions uses MAP (Measures of Academic Progress) Testing from NWEA (North West Evaluation Association) to assess each individual student. The program identifies areas where additional help may be needed, provides tools to help both student and teacher address those areas, and finally, measures individual growth.
