First Tribal Meeting

Hello NDS Parents/Guardians,

We held our first Tribal Meeting today and had a great time learning about Responsibility.  Listed below is what our discussions were about.  We hope that you will use this as a way to continue discussions at home with your student as this will help reinforce the character traits we are teaching.

Also, an informational sheet about our NDS Tribal System is attached.
What does the word responsibility mean?

● Being accountable for what you do, for your actions and behavior

● Doing the right thing at the right time, so others can trust and depend on you

● Taking care of your property, yourself, and others

● To know what you job is and to do it to the best of your ability

● When you choose to make a poor decision, you admit to it, apologize for it, and then take steps to change it.

What are you responsible for?

● My own actions

● My time

● My possessions

● Chores

● My family

● Pets

● Homework

● My School

● My community

● The Earth

What are ways you can show responsibility?

● Complete your homework and chores on time without being

Teachers and Students

reminded

● Follow through on you commitments, even when you don’t feel like it

● Accept responsibility for your mistakes and learn from them. Don’t make excuses or blame others

● Take care of your things and those of other people. Return items you borrow

● Find out what needs to be done and do it

● Make wise choices, such as choosing to eat healthy foods and wearing a helmet.

● Always do you very best. Others are counting on you!
Thank you for allowing NDS to be a part of developing character, academic excellence and good citizenship for and in your student.
Sincerely,
NDS Staff
